Intrigued by what the favorite local foods of people in Singapore are, we had previously in our last episode asked for viewers’ opinions. We got an overwhelming response from viewers which came in the form of letters and emails. We gathered these responses and came up with the top 5 local food favorites. They were Hokkien Mee, Chicken Rice, Rojak, Laksa and Nasi Lemak. With this list, we were all ready to hit the streets to gather the views of the public to find out the number one local favorite food in Singapore. We went to Jurong West to find out more. What do you think the local favorite is? Vote for it in our polls for this week!

What makes your chicken rice the best?
It’s funny how people who love chicken rice have a certain preference on how they want it to taste. The ingredients of the chicken rice each have a unique taste and it is necessary to have the right amount. Some think the chili makes a great difference to the chicken rice while others think it’s the quality of the rice. Some want their chicken to be soft while others want tough meat. There sure are many factors that affect a delicious chicken rice to best suit each individual’s taste buds.

Behind The Scenes
The following pictures and short write-ups are based on what did as a group behind the scenes. Our deepest gratitude to one and all for your contributions!

Meena and Jagjit rehearsing before recording voice overs for our news video. They were working on their pronunciation and intonation. Meena was working on her intonation while Jagjit was trying to slow down her pace while reading.

Senthil did the storyboard for the group. He drew picture and wrote captions so that it would be easier for all to remember.

The group decided to shoot at a park opposite Jurong Point Shopping centre. This venue was selected to film the opening and closing our video. We decided to select the park because, it made a great background and the lighting was good. It was away from the buzzing human crowd.

Jagjit interviewed people and asked them their favourite food from the list. It was quite a challenge as not many people were willing to give interviews.

After shooting, we sieved out the best videos and Senthil helped us to edit the audios and videos. She concluded our entire project in 150 words. Thank you Meena.

Jagjit and Poonam were editing the overall the content of the video and new blog. They were the critics of the project.
